Beautiful Fishing Locations around Brittany.
Initially built under Napoleon's orders to protect his naval arsenals from British blockades, this canal, largely built by prison labour, once brought the outside world to the impoverished backwater which was Central Brittany. The dam at Mur-de-Bretagne forms the largest lake in Brittany, the Lac de Guerlédan. No longer fully navigable, the canal is a peaceful place to walk or cycle.
